Bridgerton. Bridgerton. Bridgerton. Seems that’s all some are talking about theses days!
The popular regency fantasy Netflix series on everyones screens lately captures your senses in many ways. For me the true allure of the show is the atmospheric cinematography and the beautiful color palettes of the home interiors.
If you are watching, or just even seeing clips here and there, have you noticed it is not just any color palette? If you look closely, or not so closely (once you spot it you will see it everywhere), the interior color palette of the Bridgerton home is the pale blues, creams and pale greens traditionally found on Wedgwood pottery. So specific to the iconic brand, the color is actually know as Wedgwood Blue.
Now this classic and calm color palette did not happen by accident. Production Designer Will Hughes-Jones has discussed in many interviews that his decision process was less than straight forward, even “eye-crossing” at times.
No matter how he arrived there. I think he made THE perfect choice!

“The Bridgerton house for me is like being inside a piece of Wedgwood ceramic. It’s that beautiful, beautiful soft blue and lots of creams,” production designer Will Hughes-Jones recently said in an interview with Town & Country.
In my world how does this all translate…. into in an Easter tablescape of course!
And so I present for your viewing pleasure…
A Bridgerton Inspired Easter Table with Wedgwood

To achieve this Bridgerton inspired Easter table, I started with a flowy sheer runner in Wedgwood blue draped across the table, followed by linen napkins in mustard yellow and pale blue.
For the dinnerware, a Wedgwood classic, Wild Strawberry and the clean shape of Globe glassware for each place setting.
Mixed into the tablescape are a few of my favorite spring items given to me by friends and collected over the years – metal bird salt and pepper cellars, ceramic bunny, and various silver pieces to add texture variation and height. It is easy to add your own personality to a table with unexpected accents from around your home, especially if the gifting friend happens to be attending the gathering!
Along with lots and lots of fresh cut flowers in pewter pitchers, I am serving Pea & Ricotta Tarts and Wedgwood Blue donuts with Tea, on Peonia Blush to add a pop of spring pink to the table.

I recently had the opportunity to speak with one of the Wedgwood Global Team members about my Easter inspiration and traditions. The interview brought up so many Easter memories from my childhood and lead to the Bridgerton inspired Easter table coming to life that I wanted to share the entire interview to jog your own memories.
The Q&A follows below.
Wedgwood: What makes Easter special to you?
KF: One of the things I love about Easter so much is the feeling that the world is waking back up again from it’s long winter slumber. The trees are beginning to bud, the grass is turning from brown to bright green again; the entire garden is showing signs of rebirth.
W: Tell us about the food you always have – do you prefer traditional or non traditional recipes?
KF: Honestly, I am usually a traditionalist when it comes to holiday meals but for Easter, I always seem to make something different inspired by what is fresh in the market or in the garden. Usually peas make some sort of appearance on the menu – Spring Pea Soup, Pea Risotto with Shrimp been hits in past years, this year I am trying Mint & Pea Tartlets.

What are the Easter traditions you look forward to the most?
Growing up my mother always put together the prettiest Easter baskets for us to open on Easter morning. I still love to finding unusual treats and tokens to create a special basket for my niece and nephew.
What makes a great Easter table setting? Is there anything new you are thinking of trying this year?
As much as I try to plan ahead when designing my Easter table the truth is my final creation is almost always inspired by the flowers I find at the market or local garden shop. After months of cold and snow, vases and bowls filled with the scent of fresh Hyacinths, clippings of bright Forsythia and the ruffled petals of Parrot Tulips seem to guide my hand when selecting the dinner, glass and flatware to add to my table.

A favourite Easter egg or gift you have given or received?
One year my family had the opportunity to visit Holland during the Amsterdam Tulip festival which is usually around the same time as Easter. That year during our trip I was gifted a white chocolate tulip wrapped with a lovely ribbon. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen!

The most memorable place you have stayed at for Easter? It could be home or away.
My husbands birthday is the first week in April and frequently falls on Easter. A few years ago we were in Sonoma for a birthday weekend staying at a bed and breakfast in town. The final night of our stay was Easter Sunday, we woke up to the most elaborate table I have ever seen! Complete with Easter baskets for each guest!

The best place to buy chocolate Easter eggs? It could be in your local neighbourhood, city or somewhere you visited while on holiday.
With so many fantastic local options, and with the desire to support local businesses especially this year, we will be buying our chocolate from Pierre’s Chocolates, cheese from Savour Gourmet and Factory Girl Bake Shop for our Easter pastries and cakes! They are all independently owned businesses who’s staff creativity and dedication to the community can not be expressed enough.

What is your secret Easter indulgence?
I have two Easter indulgences. One is something most people are happy to give up, black jelly beans. The other is Braided Easter Bread from a local bakery. My grandmother always picked hers up, from a bakery New York City, and it was still warm when we placed it on the table. The bright colors and shinny crust is still a tradition on my Easter table.

Easter brings a change in seasons, what are you looking forward to most this Spring or Autumn?
After this winter, I am most looking forward to setting a beautiful table on the outdoor terrace and entertaining friends and family! The hostess in me can not wait to get back to welcoming friends to our home again.
If you were to give Wedgwood as a gift to a friend this Easter, what would you choose?
I personally don’t think you can go wrong with any gift from Wedgwood, however if I had to pick I would choose from either the Burlington Pots, Magnolia Blossom or Folio collections. They all feel truly Wedgwood with designs for modern living everyone will love.
