This Traditional Margarita recipe has a little twist on it – fresh picked Cilantro! With super fresh ingredients like lime and cilantro, this Cilantro Margarita is perfect for Cinco de Mayo, a summer neighborhood BBQ, a girls night on the back porch or any other summer entertaining opportunity you can come up with. You are going to love it. Promise!
Main ingredients for this Cilantro Margarita are tequila, lime juice, homemade simple syrup, cilantro, kosher salt, and ice. We’re going to keep it clean and keep our ingredients fresh and to a minimum. Select your glass of choice and use a lime wedge to wet the edge of the glass, add salt as you like.
Next pick off a few cilantro leaves and place them in base the glass. I have found that most people have a love or hate relationship with cilantro, if you are here still reading I image you are a cilantro lover like me so go ahead and add as many leaves as you like.
Add simple syrup and lime to the glass and muddle them together. Once you muddle the cilantro, simple syrup and lime together, then add the lime juice. I always prefer to use fresh squeezed when possible however there are tasty real lime juice options if you can’t get enough juice.
Add tequila, stir and add in ice. Top off with a sliced lime wedge. And enjoy!
