Dad’s New Favorite Beer Cocktail, The Lime Shandy

I was introduced to a shandy a few years back, yes later than you might expect of someone who loves beer, lemonade and all things summer, and I was immediately hooked.

Refreshingly drinkable on a hot summer day at the beach or while partaking in your favorite summer pass time (mine lately… home projects – follow along on Instagram if interested… ) the Shandy is the ultimate sunny day cocktail.

But enough about how I’m spending my Summer Sundays painting and on bathroom renovations, this Sunday is all about the Father’s in our lives and who deserves a relaxing day off from the long list of house chores than dear old Dad!

This Lime Shandy Beer Cocktail is your Dad’s new favorite drink for the summer of 2019! And knowing a few dad’s, I bet perhaps for the for seeable future.

Now even though this Lime Shandy recipe is super easy and perfect in a solo cup, you know that is not happening here… :). This Summer I will be drinking my shandy’s from MY new favorite Waterford Lismore Pilsner glasses. HINT – they make a great Father’s Day gift if you are still in the market.

Before we get to the simplest cocktail recipe you have ever made, let’s chat about food pairings. After all you know Dad is going to want a bite to east while he is sipping on his Shandy and chilling on the patio by the fire pit. Here is my recommended Father’s Day Menu with Beverage and dessert suggestions.

• Lime Shandy Beer Cocktail
• Plantain Chips
• Yum Yum Dipping Sauce
• Spicy Steak Street Tacos
• Key Lime Pie
• Churros

Lime Shandy Beer Cocktail

Quite possibly the easiest cocktail you will ever serve.

• Pitcher of Limeade – good quality pre-made or quickly make you own with water, fresh lime juice and a touch of sugar or agave
• Lime slices – for limeade pitcher garnish
• Beer of choice
• Lime wedges – center cut for glass garnish

In a chilled glass pour beer to fill 3/4 full. Top with Limeade to fill. Garnish with lime wedge. Serve very cold. Sip and Enjoy!
