The challenge :: Take a table in the general seating area of a popular restaurant and make it feel special for the guest of honor. Did I mention the guest of honor is a Bride-To-Be with only days left until the biggest day of her life?
How do you set a table worthy of a Bridal Celebration within a restaurant? Here’s what I would do. Start with gorgeous spring flowers tucked into a gold basket, layout a gold sequin table runner, add a “Here Comes The Bride” sign with a few extra special touches and ta-dah you have a table almost as beautiful as the bride to be.
I am a lucky girl. As a Home + Event Stylist, I get to work with THE best clients in the world. Honestly. These women are strong independent thinkers, tops in their fields and community leaders, they inspire me daily in many ways to up my game, both personally and professionally. However, one of my favorite qualities all these women seem to possess, has little to do with their professional standing. It’s their desire to perform kind gestures for others which I most admire.
So when a client of mine recently called to see if I could help her create a tablescape for a special dinner she was hosting for a co-worker who was engaged to be married, I was not surprised by this generous gesture and of course gladly took on the task.
The dinner took place at Noble Crust in St. Pete, Florida at a corner table on their covered patio area. Complete with overhead cafe lights and a cabana feel, it is the perfect location for a spring or summer celebration. {Hostess Tip:: Ask for Brad. A total hoot and fantastic at his job!}
During my conversation with my client, a few bits of important information became clear. She wanted to ensure that the flowers could be taken home by the bride-to-be and enjoyed in her home the week before the wedding and that although we did not know the wedding colors the bride was “hip”, “trendy” and “very sweet”, so with this in mind I decided to keep the theme and colors, bright and cheery, to mix in some gold elements and letting the gorgeous flowers be the star of the table.
To arrange the flowers I began with a medium sized gold basket that could be used after the flowers had been tossed and added ::
white roses
orange roses
orange ranunulus
pink ranuculus
green kermit button mums
queen annes lace
pink hypericum
mixed greens
As I mentioned the flower arrangement needed to be bright and springy. Little did I know that the chairs on the patio would perfectly match the orange Ranunculus! I love it when a decor plan comes together.
The addition of a sequin chevron design gold table runner down the center of the combined two smaller tables allowed the overall table to have a more cohesive feel.
A “Here Comes The Bride” signage welcomed guests as they approached the table and made it clear who the celebration was for without over powering the table. It also served as a memento of this special dinner and was used several times prior to the wedding.
Other small touches to make this dinner table feel special included white and natural linen chevron ribbon to cut and tied around the napkin at each placesetting. Tucked inside the ribbon I added a small clipping of Eucalyptus.
The larger spring inspired floral arrangement was the star indeed but I didn’t want the sides of the table to look bare in comparison so I filled each side with a cluster of mercury glass votives filled with cut flowers mimicking the larger display.
I have SO many other pictures of the tiny details but I will control myself for now. Be sure to look for them on social media here, here and here.
