A new season has arrived and just the thought of it has me thinking more and more about whether or not I should bring back my Seasonal Home Decor Box, but maybe in new improved way that meets your specific design style needs in mind better but still is that special seasonal surprise.

If not, here is the deal. About 2 years ago I launched my Seasonal Home Decor Box .
It was one of those ideas in my head that just wouldn’t go away.
After constantly hearing statements like “progress over perfection” and “progress comes from action”, encouraging me to put ideas into action. I thought OK I need to get this product out of my head and into the world already! I figured once I launched it I would be able to fine tune the details – find out what worked, what didn’t, what you liked and what you didn’t.
Good news – 80% of those who signed up for the first year continued into the second year. And although I was sad to see those 20% not continue I felt pretty good about an 80% renewal rate, plus new yearly and quarterly members where coming on board all the time.
Bad news – once I calculated my time, cost of the products and packaging, and shipping fees there was little or no profit margin to speak of. Also, I was limited by what items could actually fit into the USPS approved shipping boxes and shipped at a reasonable rate. Unfortunately some of my favorite items, the ones I always use when working with in person seasonal decorating clients, automatically could not be included in the boxes.
With much consideration, last December I sent out the final box to my members and let them know the membership was ending due to logistical issues.
So I am done right? Project launched, project discontinued, checked off the list right?
Wrong.
What actually happened was, members emailed.
Members asked. Non-members asked. Non-members emailed.
The phrase “Seasonal Home Box” is one of the top searches and viewed pages on my website….
So what do I do now?
I do what every wise female entrepreneur does – get feedback from the community. Find out what the customer really wants and find out what needs to be done in order to match my products + services with the needs of the community, all while being profitable.
And that’s the point of this long story of why I am writing today, I need your help.
