Welcome to The Birdhouse Guest House!
Tucked back off a tree lined street in Bucks County, Pennsylvania The Birdhouse Guest House is the dreamy vision of new owners who recently moved from a bucolic property in Solebury Township with wooded acres and rolling hills to the vibrant community of Doylestown borough.

The Bird House guest house architectural design and build was done by the incredible team at Worthington Shagen Custom Builder who went above and beyond both in craftsmanship and professionalism.

Guest House Design in Bucks County
The original single car garage had seen better days and although the main house had already gone through a major renovation, the old wood structure of the garage was completely removed to accommodate the new design.
In it’s place, a gorgeous new two car garage features a brick exterior, metal roof and meticulously placed slate shingles keeping with the style of the main house.

The ground level is a spacious garage to easily house two cars, bikes, storage and a work station. Just beyond the garage space, a lovely glass paned wood door provides access the second floor guest suite.
As you step inside the cozy foyer, the clean warm smell of wood and fresh finishes lead you up a flight of stairs and into the main space of the well appointed Guest House. Better known as “The Bird House”, many design elements are inspired by the owners love of birds and various pieces of artwork collected over the years.

Keeping with the views outside the large windows, the queen size bed is draped with a grey and white botanical duvet and euro shams. Perfect for curling up for a quick rest, a grey velvet coverlet is placed at the base of the bed. Along with colorful extra large leaf inspired pillows the polished nickel queen size bed is the clearly the centerpiece of the room.

For a contrast to the otherwise fairly neutral colors of the space, a colorful carpet is placed in the seating alcove with two chairs. An ideal place to rest after a long day walking in town.

Bird House Inspired Guest House Bathroom Design
Hidden beyond a pocket door, the bathroom is where the fun really begins. Inspired by the owners love of birds we selected F. Schumacher A-Twitter wall covering in Summer for it’s clean background and bright pops of red, yellow and navy.
The custom vanity in Hale Navy , with a black walnut countertop crafted from wood from a tree on the Solebury farm, has just the right amount of room to store linens and extra guest supplies; while not giving too much space in case guests may get the notion to “extend” their stay a bit longer.

Perrin & Rowe fixtures are used for both the bathroom vanity and walk-in shower to carry through from the main house. Do not be fooled by the beauty of the polished nickel finish, their quality and craftsmanship is unmistakeable as soon as you touch them.
Although not a large space the details in the bathroom from the heated herringbone patterned marble floor tiles to the extensively researched and selected sconces, ensure that every guest feels they are a valued friend and part of the family and not simply a traveling visitor.
